Project Overview:
The Ebagoola South Gold Project straddles up to 25 km of the mineralised NNW-trending Ebagoola shear zone and Spion Kop splay fault. The project has a similar geological setting to areas in the Northeast Queensland Mineral Province with large IRGS deposits.
Ebagoola South Gold Project has a similar geological age and setting to Kidston (5 Moz Au) and Mount Leyshon (3.5 Moz Au), and contains 16 historic (but poorly explored) IRGS targets. Geochemical signature points to potential for ‘bonanza gold zones’ at depth, with modern ME geochemical vectoring being used to identify drill targets. The Project also hosts up to 30 mesothermal prospects including historic mesothermal mines that produced 642 kg of gold.
The Ebagoola South Gold Project comprises a single granted Exploration Permit for Minerals (EPM 26678) with an area of 312km2. The tenement is subject to a farm-in agreement with ASX-listed Lukin Resources (www.lukinresources.com) whereby Lukin Resources may earn up to a 51% interest with the right to increase its shareholding to 60% by completing and sole-funding a bankable feasibility study.
EPM 26678 is located on Cape York Peninsula in northern Queensland, Australia, 62 km south of the town of Coen and 500 km by road from Cairns. Access to the area is via the Peninsula Developmental Road that runs adjacent to the eastern boundary of the EPM and a network of station tracks.
Aurum Pacific is excited to continue developing its relationships with the traditional owners of the land on which the Ebagoola South Project sits, as well liaising with leasehold property owners who currently reside on these lands. The company enjoys a warm association with all stakeholders and recognise them as crucial components to the success of the Ebagoola South Gold Project.
